Note: these requirements are tenative and may be revised. Two of the key products in industry are presentations and reports. In order to give you some practical experience, you will prepare and present a final presentation and report on your product. In addition, you need make “publicity” webpage(s) that describe (advertise) your project. These will be posted on the Dept. web site. In addition to the final working hardware you will also need a “User’s guide” which describes how the space center users can use and interface with your device (it will include a description of the hardware/software). Your final report will include all the documentation, software, board layouts, photos, etc. (on CD-ROM) to enable another ECEn student to repair/modify your hardware and/or build a new unit. Each group will prepare one set of documentation with all group members getting the same grade. The final report should be single-spaced. The final report will include a copy of all the documentation you prepared for the business part of the class AND a copy of the User’s Guide. It should also include the CD-Rom and other documentation and materials required to replicate your design. Allow 30 minutes for the final presentation. The presentations will be
given during the scheduled final period (Thurs. Dec. 16, 2:30-5:30 p.m.
– this is tentative based on the availability of personnel to attend
from the space center). Everyone from all groups is expected to watch
all the presentations, as you will be evaluating each other. We will have
a vote for the best presentation (the winners will receive a small prize).
Each group will select a group member for the “most involved”
in the various activities. Representatives of the customer will be present
to evaluate the presentations and receive the hardware. The hardware and
documentation should be ready to deliver to the space center on the day
of the final. The final report, web pages, and CD-ROM is due to me at
the same time |
