How do I get my laptop DVD player working on a classroom projector?
Please refer to the troubleshooting tips in "Playing DVDs on an External Display."

How do I set up wireless internet on my laptop?
If you are in a wireless-enabled area, Windows should automatically connect to the network. However, before being able to access the internet, you will have to authenticate with BYU. To do this, open up a web browser to http://www.byu.edu . You will be redirected to an authentication screen, and prompted to enter your Net ID and password. After authenticating, you should be able to access the internet normally.

What can I do to keep my Windows computer secure?
See "Keeping Windows Secure" for more information. Also, install Symantec Antivirus, availible to faculty and students from BYU OIT. If you have Symantec Antivirus installed (which you should), see "Scheduling Automatic Updates with Symantec Antivirus."
