Think something is wrong? Can't add something to your XML web page you think you should? You might have found a bug in the ECEn Templates. Learn how to report it to help us make the templates better.
Bugs can be flaws, missing features, or unexpected default behavior in the templates. These templates are developed by people, thus they’re bound to have flaws. We’ve done a lot of testing, but it is impossible to hit every case.
So, if you can’t resolve a problem or figure out how to accomplish a seemingly easy task, let us know. We’d like your feedback.
Although we are interested to hear any feedback you're willing to provide,it will be easier for us to address your bug reports and feature requests if you follow these instructions:
| 1 | Please contact the ECEn Web Team and explain: | What you did
 | What you expected
 | What actually happened
In most cases, this means sending a link to an example XML web page that will show us your problem, along with brief comments explaining what about the web page isn't right. Once you’ve sent us a link to your page, it would be best to leave your example alone until we’ve had a look at your problem.
| 2 | If you’ve run into multiple problems, create a sample page for each problem you have and send us the links for each one.
| 3 | Before sending us an email, make sure you are using the most current version of the templates.
What do you mean the most current version? There are many different versions of the ECEn XML Templates. As we add features, documentation and fix problems, we create new versions of the templates.
| 2 | Open up your web page's .phtml file. On a Windows machine, right click on the file, choose Open With, and then select WordPad.
| 3 | In the only line of the file, you’ll see a version number. Change only that number to match the number you saw on the stable documentation page.
| 4 | To make sure it works, scroll down to the bottom of your web page and you’ll see the version number in the footer of your web page.
But I have so many web pages, how can I change the version number on them all at once? Email the ECEn Web Team and they’ll be happy to do it for you, or show you a nifty way (from the command line, in unix or linux variants) to do it yourself.
