ECEn Department Academic Help

Welcome to the academic support pages for the BYU ECEn Department. Hopefully many answers to your questions about choosing and pursuing a degree in electrical and computer engineering are found here.

Answers to common concerns such as application to the ECEn professional program, choosing between Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science, and many others are found on Undergraduate Program main pages. These pages have a wealth of information surrounding the undergraduate degree program including graduation requirements.

For general information about classes, you can check out BYU's Undergraduate Catalog and the current ECEn course webpages. Both should give you a good idea of what each class is about. For information about ECEn 490, the Senior Projects page should give you information about the prerequisites, availability, advisors, and goals of each project.

Questions like "Will taking ECEn 4xx, ECEn 4xx, CS 3xx, and Math 3xx in the same semester ruin my life?" or "Will I ever graduate?" are best answered by the our student advisor Janalyn Mergist. You can sign up for an appointment with her on the list at the window of the ECEn Dept. Office, 459 CB. Be sure to bring an up-to-date copy of your ABC report to help her assess your situation. You may also email her with any academic questions at advisement@ee.byu.edu .

Answers to common concerns about what kind of graduate degrees are available and how to apply are found on the Graduate Program main pages.
